I've always though that those "no 3 and 5 axel" signposts looked like Tie Fighters and wanted to make a project based around it.
The week of the Force Awakens release date gave me a deadline and my good friend Conor Sheehan filled the role of "surprised guy number 1". After finding the right location and 2 reshoots, my biggest production issue was the heavy rolling shutter from shooting with a DSLR.
After quite a few late nights working on it, I thought that making it a Vine might help spread it, and over a quarter of a million loops and counting later....

Project Duration: 1 year (spare time)
Completed: December 2015
Cameras: Canon 7D, Canon 20D
Software: Nuke X, Houdini, Premiere Pro, Photoshop

This short stop motion project was originally shot in 2008 with Paul O Leary at Refresh Digital.
I was never happy with the original and had been meaning to revisit it ever since, with some keying, rotoscope and a few flourishes, I'm far happier with the final piece now.

Project Duration: 1 day (Original version 3 days)
Completed: December 2015
Software: After Effects, Illustrator
Camera: Canon 20D
Creative contributers: Produced at Refresh, directed by Paul O'Leary

The concept originated in 2007 from a photo (below) I took on a vga cameraphone on Christmas night. The following Christmas I took more photos (below) with a DSLR and tripod and I liked the basic, almost retro "2 frame" animations of some of the lights so I returned the following Christmas with a rented Canon 7D and shot the above.

Project Duration: 1 week
Completed: December 2009
Software: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator
Camera: Canon 7D
Creative contributers: Produced at Refresh
A video for the Beck song E-Pro (song was heavily edited!) playing with the psychological phenomenon of Pareidolia. I had often seen faces in everyday objects and eventually found enough to put them together into 1 project. See below for an alternative direction based around some found audio footage and talking heads and some unused "faces".
I was responsible for the rigging, animation, camerawork, and some of the camera matching and compositing.
